History of the Dojo
The dojo opened October 2nd, 2002. Everybody is most welcome to train with us on the above days !

Laszlo Antal - Head Instructor :

Laszlo Antal started his kyokushin training in Hungary, in 1985. After moving to Canada he continued his training with Sensei Tony Severs at the Sea Island Dojo in Richmond until 2002.  In the fall of the same year Laszlo Antal opened the Collingwood Dojo in Vancouver where he teaches and trains.  He participated in full contact fighting, kata and tameshiwari tournaments, earning one gold, one bronze, and two silver medals.  In the 1997 Canadian Open Championship he was awarded the "Jeff Fast - Spirit Award".  Sempai Laszlo attended many training camps, where he learned from instructors like: Shihan Bobby Lowe, Koncho Shokei Matsui, Shihan Stuart Corrigal and Shihan Don Corrigal.  Sempai Laszlo attended Langara College full time where he studied English literature and Human Kinetics.  He continued his studies at the University of British Columbia and Laszlo now works for a Real Estate Property Management Company.  Sempai Laszlo keeps his First Aid/CPR current and he also obtained the NCCP coaching certification, level 1 and 2 .

Laszlo Antal is the head instructor of the Collingwood Dojo in Vancouver.

 
Dana Yoneda - Brown Belt

Dana was introduced to Kyokushin Karate by Sempai Laszlo Antal and began training under Sensei Tony Severs at the Sea Island Dojo. After Sensei Tony's retirement, Dana transferred to the Vancouver Collingwood Dojo where he currently trains and instructs. Dana has participated in tournaments as a fighter and judge and has attended several summer and winter camps as well as the Banff Black Belt Conferences in 2006 and 2008. In 2009, Dana successfully tested for his Shodan and was presented with his black belt at summer camp. Dana also obtained the NCCP, level 1 coaching certificate from Langara College and has a current First Aid/CPR Certification.
