PART 11 - IKOK-C Summer Training Camp

Summer Camp 2005

Our journey to a spectacular long weekend began in two different vans. The two drivers took their different routes, and we were on our way to what would be the most wondrous event of the year. A few pit stops later, we finally arrived. We miraculously set up our homes for the weekend in record time under the extreme heat.

The weather was scorching hot. Everyone is probably 10 shades darker than their original colour. Swimming in the lake was refreshing and rewarding, especially after the educational trainings. Dinner and dance was the highlight of Sunday night. The food was superb, and everyone danced like there was no tomorrow.

Everything was flawless; the trainings were amazing. Everyone was enthusiastic, and we all learned so much. We bonded, met new friends, and had the time of our lives. The attendees of the Collingwood Dojo would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the summer camp. All the instructors, camp participants, family and friends, the horn that woke us all up each morning, and of course, the mosquitoes. Thanks for an extraordinary time; it was a learning experience, and we hope to see you all next year.

Summer Camp 2005

Summer Camp 2005 was great! Being there for the first time was a wonderful experince. We all had fun going down to the lake, swimming and cooling down after the tranings. Going to all the trainings was hard and tiring, but we all managed to get through each and  every single one, learning something new and different to take with us through our karate years. We also had the opportunity to join in at the Dan candidates' fights. The yoga classes were peaceful and relaxing, actually managing to twist and tangle our bodies into those positions really helped our flexiblity. The dinner and dance was a blast! The line for dinner took kinda long, but in the end we were all full in our bellies. The dance was fun being able to mingle with other people and make new friends. The late night camp fire meals we're delicious. Sitting around the fire, getting all toasty and warm and at the same time eating smokies, hot dogs and marshmellows. Too bad we had to leave, it would have been great to stay there for another couple days. Can't wait till next year's camp. OSU!
