The Collingwood
group left Vancouver on Friday in three cars with 14
people. The trip up to camp was very exciting,
because already on the way we started to cheer our Sempai to
do his Nidan test. The week-end started out with a great
atmosphere at the camp-site and every year we have more and
more club members at the "Collingwood corner".
This
year we had a lot of fun with the Bo-Katas and I still
practice it at home in our back yard with my Dad. The
schedule this year was most excellent and we did not have
trainings at high noon when it's the hottest time of day,
but we trained in the mornings and afternoons. This was my
fourth summer camp and it just keeps getting better and
better.
Beside the
trainings where we learn so much we also have a chance to
enjoy the great outdoors and have a super cool vacation;
Swimming in the creek this year was very nice, because the
current was almost non-existent; Some people went to town to
use the swimming pool and buy some more camp fire food, and
not too far there is even a drive in movie theatre if you're
not too sleepy after all that training.
Sunday was very
exciting, because of the "Black Belt Fighting" and like
always this year too we've seen a lot's of spirit from both
the Dan candidates and the fans. It was especially emotional
for me and the rest of people from my club, because we were
screaming our heads off for our Sempai Laszlo. We are very
proud of you Sempai !!
Later
that evening the dinner and Kyokushin dancing gave everybody
a chance to let loose, relax and enjoy each-other's company.
People were laughing, talking and made this summer camp
another terrific event. I can hardly wait to get my brown
belt, so that I could go with my Dad (Sempai Laszlo) to
Banff and other cool karate camps, oh well..., a few more
years!
For all those
students, who never came to summer camp, but you're thinking
about it, trust me, you'll love it !!
See you in
Enderby, 2007 !!!!!!!
