History of the Dojo
The club opened it's doors September 6th 2004 on the Homalco Indian Reserve in Campbell River.  While at Homalco students participated in tournaments throughout British Columbia earning many trophies and achieving many goals. The Homalco reserve had a large van that we used to travel in and we stayed in motels or in school gymnasiums while at out of town tournaments.  We trained with Shihan Bobby Low in 2005 at the Richmond dojo and the students were shown the dojo at the legendary St. Annes Church where it all started for Sempai Joedy.  Over the years we have had numerous guest black belts including Shihan Stuart Corrigal, Sensei Kathy Miller, Sensei Tom Gillam, Sempai Jim Hughes, Sempai Dwight Sdrogefske and Sempai Cathy Bailon.  Sensei Tom Gillam has come to Campbell River a number of times teaching our students Gojin Jitsu and the Bo katas as well as providing testing.  In 2008 our students travelled to Victoria to train and test with Sensei Hiro.
