Members of the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan - Canada (IKOK-C),
left October 29 for the 8th World Tournament in Tokyo, Japan. In all, over 30 members
made the trip to take in the Tournament, the Mitsumine International Training Camp and
just to enjoy a life long dream to visit Japan the birthplace of Kyokushin Karate.
On this web site a number of personal write-ups will follow this brief overview, so please
visit us again to get the student's perspective of the tournament, the camp and Japan.
Canada was well represented at the event with fourteen fighters in total. Spectators
from both East and West Canada gave the competitors added enthusiasm to give their best
efforts. At the end of the tournament, Kiyama from Japan remained as the victor.
After the tournament, twelve members from Western Canada attended the four-day Mitsumine
Training camp. Everyone enjoyed the camp as well as the natural and historical surrounding
offered.
Returning to Tokyo a number of students stayed in Japan for several days to enjoy the
uniqueness Japan has to offer.
