IKOK-C Summer Camp 2007

Dan Promotions

Summer Camp 2007 was the final stop for the 5 members of the IKOK-C who applied for dan grading this year.  The application and testing process began last January with the receipt of the candidates applications.  This followed attendance at Winter Camp and the Technical portion of the testing.

Classes where held to review all the candidates throughout the camp weekend.  A black belt meeting was held for all black belt members in attendance at camp to discuss the progress of the applicants to ensure nothing had been overlooked.

Although fighting after the age of 35 years is optional, all candidates chose the right option and participated in the spirited kumite sessions.

I am please to announce the following dan promotions for 2007:

Shodan

  • Jeremiah Breeze - Invermere (10 fights)

  • Anthony Evangelista - Vancouver West (10 fights - despite a very serious leg injury)

  • Dwight Sdrogefske  - Newton (57 years old - 8 fights)

  • Jim Hughes - Newton (61 years old - 8 fights)

Sandan

  • Lyle Zimmerman - Keremeos (47 years old - 22 fights)

Congratulations to all these members!
