2009 Dan Testing
Technical exams for the IKOKC 2009
Dan Testing continue throughout
the month of July as a lead up to
Summer Camp 2009.
This year 12 students put their
names forward to attempt various
levels of Black Belt grading. Dan
grading in Western Canada contains
a number of the following
elements:

Application to
the Branch Chief by January 31.

Application
includes: Resume, First Aid
Certification, CPR certification,
National Coaching certification,
Camp/event attendance
requirements.

Attendance at
Winter Camp.
-
Interview,
written exam and board breaking at
Winter Camp.
-
Technical Exam
(between Winter Camp and Summer
Camp)
-
Attendance at
Summer Camp.
-
Required
fighting (number of fights
dependant upon dan level) at
Summer Camp.
-
Second attempt at board breaking
for those who were unsuccessful at
Winter Camp.
Although a grueling process all
the applicants appear to have
accepted the challenges put in
front of them for Kyokushin Karate
Black Belt grading and are working
hard to attain a successful
outcome.
