Dean &
Mattfs Excellent Adventure – Summer 2010
Osu!
This
year, after summer camp, Sensei Dean &
Sempai Matt took a road trip to the
Kootenay region of British Columbia.
Their aim was training, Kyokushin
Training. More specifically goshin jitsu,
ippon kumite kata & advanced kata.
They
arrived Tuesday afternoon and were the
guest of Don Corrigal, senior instructor
for the Rocky Mountain Kyokushin Karate
Dojo in Cranbrook. Trainings consisted
of 2 a days, kata in the morning in a
local park and goshin jitsu/ippon kumite
in the evening hosted by John Darula of
the Rocky Mountain Club.
These
evening sessions were followed by some
kyokushin hospitality and socializing
for the 2 guests to the East Kootenay.
Between training Sensei Dean & Sempai
Matt helped their host lay a new front
walk way to his home.
Unfortunately weather; major
thunder/lighting/rain storms put a
damper on the outdoor training and the 2
intrepid travelers, and the decision was
made to head back to Vancouver a day
early. However, Sensei & Sempai went
home feeling some the worst for wear,
but happy for the week of training. The
Rocky Mountain Dojo members that
participated in the training as cannon
fodder were equally thankful; for the
opportunity to train with these
instructors over the week.
Thanks to
Sensei Dean & Sempai Matt for their
spirit and hard work over the week.
Osu!
