On
February 10, 11, and 12, 2006, Calgary Kyoksuhin Karate hosted
the 7th Annual Calgary Training Seminar. Another
great weekend of training was had by all, to the credit of
Shihan Don Corrigal, Sensei Terry Price, and Sensei Kathy
Miller, who traveled long distances to deliver skilled and
dynamic instruction to over 100 participants.
Highlights included instruction of advanced fighting techniques,
ground self-defense techniques, break-falling, kata, kihon, ido
geiko, and happo no kawashi.
This year the group gathered for a Chinese buffet meal on the
Saturday night, where upwards of 40 people ate, drank, and
reveled until late in the evening, making attendance to the
Sunday morning training session a victory in itself.
In
an effort to alleviate the chaos of the winter Kyokushin season,
beginning in 2007, the Calgary Seminar will change seasons,
taking place every second October, in years when there is no
Black Belt Conference.
Our warmest thanks to all who participated this year – we
appreciate your continued support, and look forward to gathering
once again with all of you in October 2007!
Osu,
Brad Gillespie
