PART 6 - A General Class (July 12, 2001)

Beautiful weather on a hot summer night does not always translate into many students attending training, however, the diehards are always there. Nine members turned up for training on Thursday. It doesn't really matter how many turn out, as long as everyone who is there, trains and trains hard!

The sweat was already pouring after a short warm up period as the class moved right into fighting training that focused on footwork and body movement. Several moves and combinations were practised with the emphasis on finding - "What works for you". Summer classes at the dojo are usually a lot more flexible as the students must motivate themselves to get the most out of their training.

The second half of the class was devoted to kata. Since most of the participants were black belts, we were able to cover a number of katas. A few interesting combinations of katas pushed everyone to stay focused and on form.
