Began training Kyokushin Karate
under Sempai Terry Shivas,Sempai
Brent Parker,Sempai Rainer
Udala,and Sensei Lyle Zimmerman
at the Penticton Dojo in 1992.
Has
trained for the past five years
under Sensei Dean Bawtinheimer
at the Port Coquitlam dojo and
opened the Nelson Dojo in Jan
2009.
Has
attended numerous summer and
winter camps to train with
Shihans Donald and Stuart
Corrigal,and other high ranking
Kyokushin members
Attended the 2008 Black Belt
conference in Banff and trained
at the 2009 winter retreat in
Yahk B.C. with Shihan Don.
Competed in the Canadian
Championships in 1994 winning
third in the HW Knockdown
colored belt div.
Competed at the Newton
Tournament in 2008 in the age 35
and over Knockdown division and
placed third.
Competed in the 2008 Canadian
Championships in the age 35 and
over Knockdown division and
placed first.
We are a new dojo with a large
after school program and after a
slow start enrollment in the
adult programs is picking up.
Our
doors are always open to any and
all current Kyokushin KarateKa
and of course we welcome any new
students who are looking for a
new challenge.
